——– countdown to NYC ——–

I went to see Julie and Julia with a couple of girlfriends the other night. Since then I have been thinking about blogging a bit more than usual. If Julie can make a book out of her blog and then get a movie deal out of it, why can’t I create a buzz about the impending HUGE deal exhibiting urban:kitty at market in NYC will be (yeah, right)? So here I am, creating a daily countdown to the big day. I hope you enjoy and visit daily for updates…

Well, the big day has finally arrived. The bags are packed and amazingly aren’t bursting at the seams. All I need to do now is get some sleep but for obvious reasons sleep seems to be the furthest thing from my mind. It seems like all of the final wrap up went along without a hitch and that some last minute thing should pop up, but nothing has. The only thing I am worried about at this point is how to pack a fedora without crushing it. Minor upset, I know, considering how non-critical a head accessory is to the overall success of this adventure. Can this be what being perfectly prepared is all about? I guess I really wouldn’t know since I am not usually in that position. But I do like the way this feels, whatever it may be called.
So many things are filing through my mind. Will we reach our sales goal? Will buyers show, considering this crazy up and down economy? Might the press pick up the media kit and think our style worthy of a story? Will this darn sore throat and scratchy voice hold up for three solid days of selling? Will this all be worth it in the end?
I am anxious to find the answers to these questions, no matter what the outcome. The anticipation is racing through my veins, which is why I most likely won’t get much sleep tonight.
Help, I’m alive, my heart is beating like a hammer. — Metric
